An American is lost to heart diseases and strokes every 39 seconds. After recently attending an advocacy meeting and hearing a personal stories by those affected, I decided to join the American Heart Association (AHA), the nation's oldest, largest, voluntary organization devoted to cardiovascular diseases and strokes. Specifically, I am a member of the AHA NYC Young Professionals, a group of young adults in the city who strive to increase awareness and cardiovascular education. I believe it is very important for Americans to learn how to live a heart-healthy life and do everything possible to not be part of the statistic. Every spring, the NYC Young Professionals hosts the Red Ball, the group's largest fundraising event. As a committee member, I am helping to plan and organize the event, of which 100% of the profits goes directly to the American Heart Association. This year's event will take place on May 7, 2014 at the Highline Ballroom in Manhattan and features a cocktail reception, silent auction, and dancing!
Please help me and the AHA Young Professionals educate and emphasize the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent heart disease and stroke. Please consider sponsoring me by making a donation using the link to the right. A donation of any amount will help greatly in achieving my goal of $1,500.
For those of you in the NYC area, I hope that you can join us at the event to have a fun night! Not only is it a great opportunity to give to a phenomenal cause, it is an opportunity to mingle with young professionals from the NYC area. Tickets can be purchased directly from me or using the link to the right.
Thank you very much!
Love always,
Caroline
