Without your commitment to our mission, we would be unable to do the things that we do. Please help us continue to fight America’s number 1 and number 4 causes of death, Heart Disease and Stroke.

Over the past 10 years of the AHA NYC Young Professionals, we have developed and reached amazing heights as one of the most prestigious young professional groups in Manhattan. Thank YOU for bringing our group to the next level of excellence.

In honor of the New Year, the 2014 Young Professionals Board of Directors has developed a new statement to shape our mission, vision and values as a group. Cheers to the future!

The numbers speak for themselves: we lose an American to heart diseases and stroke every 39 seconds. For young adults under the age of 40, our rates are rising. We'd like to change that.

We are young adults who want to make a difference by increasing awareness and education of cardiovascular dis-eases and stroke while having fun. We have been inspired to get involved, be it because our lives have been directly or indirectly affected by heart diseases and stroke, or be-cause we just want to be part of this active community.

We host regular missions events aimed at getting people learning, thinking, and talking about prevention strategies of a heart healthy lifestyle. We volunteer in the community, meet up for social and fitness events, learn more about heart diseases and stroke, share our stories, advocate for heart policy, support fundraising for cutting edge research, and have fun along the way.

We are vibrant and bold, changing the face of heart disease today, tomorrow. One day at a time.

We are the American Heart Association Young Professionals of NYC. We are the YPs.

I have always been aware of the American Heart Association's organization and mission. Growing up, my family stressed the importance of eating healthy and staying active on a daily basis.

Two years ago, I was shocked, confused, and devastated that my boyfriend, Vishal, passed away from heart complications. Vishal was the most genuine, loyal, kind-hearted, and carefree individuals that I have ever met.

Vishal taught me to work hard and to never give up on my dreams. He was also a big believer on helping people and paying it forward. This is the reason why I am a part of the American Heart Association.
I want to continue to help others - mainly focusing on preventing men/women from having heart attacks in their early 30's.

I hope you can attend the Red Ball and/or Donate to an organization that saves lives everyday.
