Leadership

2012 New York City Heart Ball
20 Champions of Heart & Stroke
Despite all the amazing advances in modern medicine, cardiovascular disease and stroke remain the #1 and #4 killers of all Americans.  On Tuesday June 19th, twenty of the American Heart Association’s bright and shinning stars will gather with over 800 leaders from the medical, business and political communities in New York City to celebrate life-saving advances by raising $2 million for heart disease and stroke research grants.
The men and women that comprise the 20 Champions of Heart & Stroke are highly respected and renowned leaders in their respective fields.  The fervor and passion that is the driving force behind their professional success is the same that drives this group’s philanthropic commitment to excellence. This elite group of individuals was carefully selected through a rigorous vetting process that measured professional status, sphere of influence, and overall support of the organization and its life saving mission. Throughout their tenures as volunteers and board members, this distinguished group has – and tirelessly continues to – lead advocacy and education campaigns as well as raise critically-needed funds that directly result in scientific breakthroughs that have significantly impacted the trajectory of cardiovascular disease and stroke worldwide.
